  2. Heat oil in a pan add nigella seeds and green chillies
  3. Add the steamed vegetables
  4. Saute well adding salt and turmeric powder
  5. Saute until vapour evaporates
  6. Add sugar and mix well
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with plain rice

Cover and cook till the banana stem is cooked well but not mushy. Keep stirring occasionally to prevent the vegetable from sticking or burning. The banana stem is not a true stem. It is actually a pseudostem made out of leaf sheaths. Add sambar powder and continue to simmer for.
