Instructions to make Simple palm oil jollof rice:
- Soak your rice for about thirty minutes and drain in order to reduce the starch, place a clean pot and add palm oil, let it heat a little bit then add peas (in order to cook complety) then add pepper, onion, ginger ND garlic (ground)
- Stir fry for five minutes then add water and add the rice, add salt and seasoning too allow it cook, when it is almost drained add all veggies and let it steam for five minutes and your delicious jollof rice is ready!!!!
When I first wrote this recipe on the blog, it was totally unplanned. If it's available to you, use palm oil. It will give the rice a distinct red color as well as that African flavor. Palm oil is common in parts of Africa and imparts a reddish color to the dish. Heat the sauce until it is lightly bubbling.
