The ingredients needed to make Puppy Chow:
- Prepare 350 grams frosted flakes or other cereal
- Get 1 cup chocolate spread with or without other flavours
- Make ready 1 cup peanut butter smooth or crunchy
- Get 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
A bowl of Puppy Chow is like a bag of classic potato chips: Once you start snacking, it's impossible to stop. Put Puppy Chow out at any holiday gathering and it will always be the first thing to go. Puppy chow (aka muddy buddies) are one of the easiest and most delicious desserts EVER. There's something about Rice Chex that makes it kind of perfect for puppy chow.
Instructions to make Puppy Chow:
- Put the spreads in a large plastic bowl and place in the microwave for 40 seconds. Remove and give it a good stir.
- Add your preferred flakes and stir by putting the spoon underneath the cereal and folding the choco mixture in whilst turning the bowl. Be patient, you want to get a good coating so continue to rotate and fold until you're satisfied it is thoroughly coated.
- Add 1 cup of powdered sugar and start tossing the mixture again using the folding technique.
- Now it's all a matter of personal preference - I like to add the sugar until the flakes separate to become individually coated but you might prefer larger clumps, so add the remaining sugar a little at a time and stir in well until you are satisfied with the mix.
- You can store this in an airtight container or a zip lock bag, but I shouldn't think it work be around for long! I like mine from the fridge as I think it adds to the flavour when chilled
