- Get 1 cup idli rice

- Take 1 inch ginger Julian cut
- Prepare to taste Salt
- Take 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- Get 10 curry leaves
- Make ready 2 cup Coconut thin milk
- Make ready 1/2 cup thick coconut milk
- Take 1 cup water
- Make ready 3 cloves
- Prepare 2 small pieces Cinnamon
- Prepare 3 green cardamom
I used only carrot, potato and baby beans. You can make only with potato too. Appam cookes very fast, so you can make hot for your family when ever they sit for having breakfast. Breakfast with appam, vegetable stew and sweetened coconut milk.
Steps to make Appam with vegetable stew:
- Soak idli rice for 4 hr.
- Grind grated coconut and idli rice.
- Keep it side for 8 hr..
- Add salt, sugar and soda and water.
- Mix it gently. It will be pouring consetency.
- Take appam pan. heat appam pan over medium flame and pour a ladlefull of batter into the pan.
- Immediately twirl the pan to spread the batter in a circle motion.
- Cover and simmer for about 2 minutes.
- Remove appam from the pan.
- For vegetable stew:-
- Cut all vegetable in small cubes.
- Take pan. Heat 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil. Add cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.
- Add onion, green chilli, curyy leaves, ginger.saute for a minutes.
- Now add all vegetable and green peas.
- Saute for a minute.
- Add one cup water and salt.
- Boil it till vegetable half cooked.
- Now add coconut thin milk.
- Boil it again till vegetable complet cook.
- Now again add coconut thick milk, coconut oil, curry leaves. Mix it well. Off flame.
- Vegetable stew is ready to serve with appam.
Recently i came across the recipe of Vegetable stew in one of my old cook book and i find it similar to one of my bookmarked recipes from here I enjoyed the stew with rotis too. In the original recipe they used green peas also. since i don't have green peas in hand i didn't add.
